OUR STORY

Who We Are
 & What We Believe

We believe that every person has the right to feel seen, and know they are not alone. That belief is the heart of everything we make. Every Bee Note pairs creativity with kindness, a letter chosen, a small painting made with care, because we think beautiful things carry meaning further. And we believe in the moments that make us pause: the birthdays, the hard seasons, the quiet "just because" days when someone crosses your mind. Those pauses are where connection lives, and a Bee Note is our way of helping you honor them.

The little bees keep things moving because gentleness is never wasted and encouragement matters.

An open vintage-style keepsake letter from The Whimsical Bee with a green cover and cream interior, laid on a soft white fabric background with a small plant leaf at the edge. The card includes printed text, decorative borders, and a small illustrated deer. A miniature art print is enclosed along with additional treasures

I have always been the person who has to find the perfect gift. Not the expensive one, the right one. The one that fits a person so exactly it makes them light up, because it tells them you were paying attention. Somewhere along the way I noticed that a tiny piece of art could do that too. Small enough to fit in the perfect spot, on a desk, a shelf, a windowsill, and somehow big enough to make someone genuinely happy.

For a long time that was just a thing I loved, not a thing I did.

Then came a different season. I had moved to a rural place, on my own, and I felt the kind of quiet that creeps in when the world goes still around you. I wanted something real. A connection, a warmth, a sense that someone, somewhere, understood. So I did the thing I always do when I need to feel like myself. I painted. All that winter I made tiny paintings, and many tiny bees, special little worlds the size of your palm.

And one morning I woke up with the whole idea already there, as if it had been waiting for me. Bee Notes. A short letter, just five by seven inches, paired with a little piece of art. Something a person could hold. The thought that a few gentle words might shift someone's whole perspective, or simply make them smile, would not leave my head. It still hasn't.

WHY WE STARTED BEE NOTES

Seen. That quiet, startling relief of, oh. Someone gets what this feels like. Maybe I am not as alone as I thought.

I have noticed, as I have gotten older, that the world can be a lonely and cold place. So much of it happens through a screen now. The Whimsical Bee is my small attempt to send something opposite out into it. Something you hold in your hands. Something that pulls you, just for a moment, back to a slower time, when we sat and talked and read, and when the phone rang we answered it, because it might be someone we needed.

That is what a Bee Note really is. Not paper and paint, but a feeling. A pause. A small reminder that someone thought of you on purpose.
